Ela Ada with Rava

#Ela Ada with Rava Ela Ada is a traditional Kerala snack made by steaming rice dough filled with a sweet coconut and jaggery mixture inside banana leaves. The banana leaves impart a unique aroma and flavor, making this dish a favorite breakfast item and evening snack. This version is made with Rava instead of Rice. For more yummy recipes visit:    / sreenathrecipes     / sreenathrecipes   http://www.sreenathrecipes.blogspot.in   / malluadukkala  .   / sreenathrecipes   Ingredients Rava – 2 cups Grated coconut – 2 cups Jaggery powder – 2 cups Banana – 6 Cardamom powder – ½ tsp Ghee - 1 tbsp Salt – 1 pinch Process Heat one tbsp of ghee in a thick bottomed pan over medium flame Now add two cups of rava / semolina and roast it for five minutes Stir continuously Turn off the flame and transfer this into a basin bowl and allow it to cool Add two cups of jaggery powder, two cups of grated coconut, half tsp of cardamom powder, a little salt and six ripened bananas Mash the bananas, mix well and prepare the dough Boil water in an idli cooker Meanwhile take a small ball of the dough and flatten it on a piece of banana leaf Now fold the leaf Do the same process for the remaining dough Keep the steamer plate inside the idli maker Place the adas one by one on the steamer plate Steam cook this for fifteen minutes Now turn off the flame Take it out and allow it to cool Yummy rava ada is ready to serve Please try it out and post your feedback
