Asexualité et aromantisme | Helio Thiémard | TEDxGenevaStudio

Still largely unknown, the absence of sexual or romantic attraction to anyone is the reality for approximately one in a hundred people. From concept to personal narrative, this sexual and romantic orientation will be explored in detail, far removed from stereotypes and with nuance. Together, we will move towards a better understanding of asexual and aromantic experiences, enabling those affected to live their orientation more peacefully. To spark and enrich the discussion, two recommendations: Mrs. Yéyé's song "Tout le monde n'aime pas le sexe" (Everyone Doesn't Like Sex), and the podcast "Free from Desire" by Paradiso Media. Helio Thiémard is primarily dedicated to activism, reflection, and sharing for a world without discrimination: queer feminist, environmentalist, anarchist, and against ableism, racism, and precariousness. It is through experience, discussions, and reading that they have been able to discover and explore LGBTQIA+ diversity, including their asexuality (lack of sexual attraction to anyone), biromanticism/panromanticism (romantic attraction to people of all genders), and non-binary identity (identity outside of the female or male genders). Their interest in culture, activist outreach, and knowledge sharing is reflected in their eclectic career, from their YouTube channel “Idéoscopies” to speaking engagements for media outlets and organizations. They also place great importance on group and self-care, communication, and sovereignty, with a systemic, collective, and non-individualistic understanding of mental and physical health.
