Rocky Mountain National Park Backpacking - Lawn Lake Trail

4/13-4/14/2026: My buddy and I flew to Denver so we could backpack Rocky Mountain National Park. Our first time backpacking there - we tried to do the CDT loop, but rangers told us it would be too snowy. I think we might have been ok when you see how little snow there was! Lawn Lake is what we decided to do and it was wonderful. One of the most beautiful alpine lakes I've seen. Easy hike overall, never really taxing at any point. Can't wait to come back to the park for the CDT Loop!
