Quantitative and Qualitative Data - Overview

This lecture provides an overview of both 'quantitative' and 'qualitative' data. The lecture is in three parts: Part 1 - Recaps quantitative data and introduces qualitative data. Part 2 - Considers quantitative data in greater depth and offers an example of use of a Likert scale. Part 3 - Considers qualitative data in greater depth, outlining data collection methods and how to analyse qualitative data using coding schedules from which 'themes' can be derived. The object of this lecture is to provide you with an overview of the the two types of data and allow you to now undertake your own research and so develop your own understanding of these types of data.
