ORDINARY PLENARY SESSION JUNE 2026 The ordinary plenary session in June approved the local holidays for 2027 and an institutional motion recognizing the solidarity of Alhaurín el Grande. The session also included the debate and rejection of a proposal on immigration presented by Vox. 2. LEADER FUNDING: 2.3 MILLION EUROS The Guadalhorce Valley will receive 2.3 million euros in LEADER funding to promote rural development projects. Alhaurín el Grande is already working on initiatives to apply for this funding. 3. ANTONIO GALA AWARD CEREMONY The Department of Culture invites the public to attend the award ceremony, which will take place on June 20 at 9:00 p.m. Invitations can be picked up at the Municipal Library. 4. VILLA FAIR PRESENTATION The Town Hall will unveil the poster and program for the 2026 Villa del Guadalhorce Fair on June 18th at an event open to the public in the Plaza Mayor. Registration for the Miss and Mister contest is also ongoing. 5. SCHOOL SUPPLY AID The Social Welfare Department is once again offering this aid program for families in vulnerable situations. Applications can be submitted until August 24th. 6. “PURPLE” THURSDAY EVENTS The Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth experienced a busy Thursday yesterday, the day before its main festivities, with events both inside and outside the chapel.
