Boat Fire in Bergen: What Really Happened?

DRAMA IN BERGEN HARBOUR. Boat on Fire - What happened? I was out for lunch and there were a lot of smoke in the street. What is going on? Experience the dramatic minutes on Bergen Harbour. It turns ot that a boat seller Bergen Marinesenter had some boats outside the waterfront shop. This Princess V62, worth 1,07 mill USD, 11,9 mill Norwegian kroner was prepared for exebition. Everything was ok when the owner saw to the boats at 9 o'clock in the morning. At 11.30 AM his neighbour nocked on the door and said there was a boat on fire. He took the breadknife, ran out and cut the rope. Then he jumped in an other boat and tougether with his sales mangager towed the buring one away. It was vital to get it away from the rest of the boats. They were then engulfed in the poisonuos smoke and had to speed up to get away. When the Bergen Brannvesen, the firebrigade came, they turned around and towed the burning boat the the passenger boat terminal so the firefighters could take over. The firefigthers fire boat also came, as seen in the video. Luckily no one were serioiusly harmede, the two in the towing boat received medical care for exposiour to smoke. It is hard to extinguish fire in a fiberglass boat, the whole boat burns and melts. They had to use foam and not water to prevent it from sinking with lot of diesel on board. (The fueltank takes 3500 liter/925 gallon.) The fire reignited and it took seven hours before the fire was out, and they had to tow it out of the city center because of the poisonuos smoke, and to empty the diesel. They think it was probably something with the electrical wiering under the dashboard that started it. Thanks to the observant neighbour, the quick response from the leader of Bergen Marinesenter and the good work of Bergen Brannvesen the dramatic minutes ended well (but not for the boat)!
