Since we all live within the boundaries of our ignorance, how do we react to the unknown, the incomprehensible, the unthinkable? How do we feel near the boundary? In 35 years of teaching physics at the college level, he developed various ways to give meaning to education and to help people grasp the value of knowledge. Creating the Science on Tour competition, held for 23 years in Quebec's CEGEPs, participating in several science museum projects here and in Europe, and establishing the Physical Sciences Demonstration Centre were also his ways of promoting a broader appreciation for this heritage of humanity: scientific knowledge. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
