Kayak Camping Lake Monroe
I decided to load up my Kayak, camping and some fishing gear and head out to Lake Monroe. The weather was great on the first day with a slight chance of rain on the second. Thankfully I made it back to the truck on the second day without seeing a drop of rain. Lake Monroe has a great backcountry camping area on its banks that you can hike to via the Pennisula trail or you can reach it by boat like I did on this trip. The area gets a lot of use and is usually pretty busy during the summer months so if you want to make sure you get a site I would suggest getting there on a Friday afternoon or wait until the fall or even winter.
