BS7671 18th Edition Amendment snore

What’s bright orange, full of self-importance and lifting money out of your wallet? What’s that you say? Donald Trump?? No, it’s the new Amendment 4 to BS7671, the UK wiring regulations. Yes, it’s been out for nearly a month so I’m a bit late to it. At first, I was gonna make a video… then I decided I wasn’t, then I rolled it into an inspection and testing presentation I’m working on, and finally I decided to drag it out into something standalone. Honestly though, I’m bored of this kind of content where I’m moaning about the state of the industry – mainly because much of what I moan about ought to be common sense, and lord knows there are enough industry bodies claiming to represent us, so why does it all seem to be ill thought out and little short of a blatant cash-grab? I’ll also say that although Amendment 4 is largely irrelevant to my day, there will be people out there for whom these changes do have a larger impact. Links...
