From 51 Years to Life to a Second Chance | Tone

Anthony H. Baptiste, better known as Tone, was born in Queens, New York, and spent much of his youth in Suffolk County, Long Island. Before his incarceration, Tone was deeply involved in New York City’s nightlife and entertainment industry, helping promote events featuring artists such as Nas, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Future, Fetty Wap, French Montana, Cardi B, 50 Cent, and many more. His life changed when he received what became a 51-years-to-life sentence on a non-violent drug conviction as a first-time offender. Rather than allowing prison to define him, Tone dedicated nearly a decade to transforming himself. During his incarceration, he lost more than 100 pounds, became a Certified Paralegal, earned his Personal Trainer certification, and focused on preparing for a successful return home. Released on merit parole in February 2026, Tone has embraced a new purpose through public speaking, fitness, acting, modeling, and mentoring others with a message of resilience, redemption, and second chances.
