Not “Extra”: Embedding Anti‑Racism into Curriculum Webinar

Anti‑racism is not an “add‑on” to the curriculum—it is already embedded in what educators teach and how learning communities are shaped. This webinar, delivered by the MacKillop Institute and Click Against Hate, explored how educators can intentionally and sustainably embed anti‑racism across curriculum areas without tokenism, increased workload, or professional risk. Through practical examples, curriculum mapping, and implementation frameworks, the session supported participants to recognise where anti‑racism already exists and how to strengthen it in ways that are meaningful, context‑responsive, and safe. Participants gained confidence to embed anti‑racism into everyday practice while fostering inclusive, respectful learning environments. The session featured Justin Roberts, National Program Director of ReLATE at the MacKillop Institute, alongside Jeremy Kalbstein from Click Against Hate and Holocaust Education Australia, who shared insights from his work designing immersive, story‑based learning experiences that support critical thinking and ethical engagement with complex issues.
