Via Claudia Augusta #4 von Pfunds bis Biberwier ⛺️ | E-Bike Radreise

Today we set off from VC Camping at 8:00 a.m. to the bakery to fuel up for the upcoming climb. The downhill ride to Imst was really just to cover some distance along the Inn River, which rushes along quite briskly in some places. Then things really got going: We had to tackle the Fern Pass with its loose gravel, gradients of up to 24%, carpets of roots, and loose, fist-sized rocks. In some sections, it was quite a challenge to navigate these narrow passages and ramps. Especially when encountering oncoming traffic, we had to change our line, which threw us off balance and forced us to dismount. Starting again with all our gear looked incredibly difficult. We could either use the push assist or find a suitable, preferably flat, spot to try and regain enough momentum to get back on the trail. We found this stage to be the most challenging of the entire tour and wouldn't repeat it with all our luggage. We were happy to have found a suitable spot at the campsite in Biberwier and to have bought ingredients for a salad beforehand, so we could enjoy a relaxing end to the evening.
