Faced with the rapid pace of new technologies and the development of artificial intelligence, governments want to maintain control over their operational tools; and the fact that some of these tools come from other countries weakens their governance. Senator Vanina Paoli-Gagin (The Independents), who specializes in these issues, was a guest on the morning show "Bonjour Chez Vous." According to her, "It's better to have fair AI, the right AI, in the right place, for the right purpose." Regarding these foreign interferences, she explained: "I want to develop frugal and distributed AI, because I think that's also what sovereignty and robustness are about." The senator (The Independents) cited the example of American AI: "Look at what happened with the 'kill switch' of Fable 5, actually," illustrating the unilateral and immediate shutdown of Anthropic's digital service.
