Carey Special
The Carey Special is a pattern that originated in British Columbia for still waters. The fly has stood the test of time and still produces effective results. I fish it on Crane Prairie, and other Central Oregon lakes, using a Hover Line; each strip lifts the fly. I use a wonky quick strip with lots of pauses to imitate the dragonfly nymph. Give this pattern a try.
