DEADLY THREAT DETECTED AND ELIMINATED

This property has a history of black mambas, this property is perfectly situated on the southern bank of the Tongaat River. The southern bank is steep with dense vegetation, great sun exposure and protection from the cold southerly winds. Directly across the the river (more like a large stream) is the Tongaat Hulett's Maidstone sugar mill and Voermol. Voermol was established in 1962 to solve the molasses disposal problem. The molasses is mixed with various meals, vitamins, minerals and salts to produce supplimentry animal feeds. The presence of this copious and healthy food supply will ensure a great rodent population that crosses the river during the hours of darkness to stock up their pantries. This not a case of inviting the mambas to the property by means of poor waste management that invites large rodent populations. Having black mambas and dogs on your property is not the perfect recipe for stress free living, one traumatic event resulted in the loss of a beloved fur baby and a majestic black mamba. This particular mamba has been heard moving around but not been visible until this day when one of the dogs spotted it and charged towards it barking excitedly. Fortunately Dale was on hand and was quick enough to prevent another tragedy. The snake sought the security of the roof, was partially visible but was on the move when we arrived. A new game combining chess and hide & seek was hastily invented kicked off with the serpent making up the rules as we went on....... Eventually patience and experience swung the game in my favor and we secured a checkmate win.
