Latest update: Bonsucro EU-RED Standard v3.0

The EU has set targets for GHG emissions reduction and for the use of renewable energy. The Bonsucro EU-RED Standard shows that Bonsucro-certified biofuels and biomass fuels, made from sugarcane, are compliant with the sustainability criteria set out in the European Union Renewable Energy Directive, and can therefore be imported into the European market. In January 2025, the European Commission approved Bonsucro EU-RED Standard v3.0 to reflect EU-RED III. Bonsucro EU-RED certified operators will have to comply with v3.0 from 21 May 2025.
