Bonsucro Impact Fund grant opportunity: Developing nature-based solutions in the sugarcane sector
The Bonsucro Impact Fund (BIF) supports innovative projects that address critical sustainability challenges faced by the sugarcane sector. Using income from the Bonsucro Credit Trading Platform, our Fund offers our members the chance to apply for thematic grants for projects that catalyse sustainable sugarcane production. This year also marks a new chapter for the BIF as we launch a co-funded granting programme with PepsiCo. A call for proposals opened on 14 April 2026 for projects that catalyse on- and off-farm nature-based solutions at a landscape scale. Proposals should primarily contribute to land restoration, the enhancement of biodiverse habitats, and the support of local ecosystems, including native flora and fauna. These projects should also address interconnected outcomes, such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, soil health, water quality, and conservation. Bonsucro members are now invited to apply for our Impact grant of up to £100,000 – by submitting a concept note for projects that will produce tangible results and impact for communities within the sugarcane sector, while at the same time enhancing knowledge and learning for the industry. These projects should demonstrate the potential for change and scalability. Innovation grants of up to £50,000 are also available for pilot projects that test innovative tools and partnerships that improve smallholder farmer production in the sugarcane sector. Deadline of submissions is 26 May 2026.
