🇲🇽 Deported After 23 Years in the USA | A Raw Conversation in Monterrey Mexico
I am actively seeking more deportation stories. If you or someone you know have been recently deported from USA, especially after having spent the majority of your life there, please contact me. I am willing to travel to you to tell your story. If you are trying to get in touch with me, don't leave a comment, as I might not see it. Look for my email in my bio, or DM me @AlpinePinecone on IG or Tiktok EDIT: Aug 15 - I am going to try to film a follow-up video with Carlos. So if you have any questions for him that you want answered, please drop them in the comments. Thanks folks ❤️ EDIT: Aug 16 - Carlos has gone missing. We spoke a few days ago. Now he’s been missing for 5 days. No calls, no messages, his phone’s off. Even for deportees who had stable US lives, life can unravel fast after deportation. I am continuing to try to get in contact him, and hopefully will be able to post an update soon. EDIT: Sept 10 - I FOUND CARLOS. A lot has happened since this video was recorded. We have now since reconnected and shot a lot more. Updates are imminent... I’m currently documenting the stories of recent U.S. deportees, meeting them in the countries they were sent to as they work to piece their lives back together. I have no agenda. I am simply interested in raw human stories, and am seeking to learn more about peoples experiences through unfiltered 1-on-1 conversations. Every flight, bus ride, meal, and place I stay comes directly from my own pocket. I have no grants, sponsors, or backing of any kind. I just met Carlos in Monterrey Mexico, a 27 year old man who was just deported from the USA after 23 years. Carlos was brought to the US at 5 years old by his mother. Arriving from Veracruz, Mexico, they settled in Chandler, AZ. He went to school, received a DACA visa, graduated, and worked for two Fortune 100 American companies before being picked up by ICE about a month ago and deported. He has now been sent back to a country that he barely knows, leaving behind friends, family, and the life he’d built in the US. Now he’s renting a small room, working the graveyard shift in a warehouse, and trying to start over from nothing. In this video we have a long, unedited conversation about his life before, during, and after deportation. This is a raw, unfiltered look at the human side of deportation, and the reality of rebuilding when you’ve been forced to leave the only home you’ve ever truly known. 📍 Location: Monterrey, Mexico 📸 Follow me on Instagram: @AlpinePinecone 🎥 Follow me on TikTok: @AlpinePinecone 🔔 Subscribe for more real-life moments and travel stories. #Mexico #Deportation #Monterrey #Immigration #ICE #deported *Carlos has a GoFundMe set up for himself in case anyone wants to help him get back on his feet: https://gofund.me/b6154bfb (Note: The dollar amounts you see are in Mexican Pesos.
