El crim de la Vila Olímpica | BCN CONFIDENCIAL

On April 1, 2000, an incident outside a nightclub in the Vila Olímpica in Barcelona ended with the death of Carlos Javier Robledo, 22 years old. During the early hours of the morning, Carlos Javier Robledo and two companions had an altercation with a large group of young people. The dispute began, according to subsequent investigations, as a result of the possible theft of a jacket. The confrontation escalated and resulted in a physical assault against Robledo. Valentín Moreno, who at the time of the incident was about to turn 18 (he came of age hours after the assault, which is why he was prosecuted under juvenile law), was identified as the perpetrator of the first impact that caused the victim to fall to the ground. Once he fell, Robledo received multiple blows to the head and body from several members of the attacking group. Carlos Javier Robledo was taken to Hospital del Mar, where he died from his injuries.
