Battle for Enniscorthy and the Outbreak of Civil War in County Wexford with Barry Lacey
On the 2nd of July 1922 the first instance of fighting in the Civil War in Wexford occurred when Free State forces clashed with Anti-Treaty IRA in Enniscorthy town. Three days later and similar would occur in Ferns village. Both conflicts resulting in three dead and many wounded.
