Cardiff to Portsmouth: GWR's Coast-to-Coast Route Across the South West!
In today’s video, join me as I travel from Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour on the direct GWR regional service, one of the most unique and varied routes operated by Great Western Railway! This journey takes me across a large stretch of southern Britain, covering three major railway corridors: the South Wales Main Line, the Wessex Main Line and the western section of the West Coastway Line. After departing Cardiff, the service passes through Newport, runs along the River Severn towards Bristol, continues through the historic city of Bath and heads south via Westbury and Salisbury. From there, the route makes its way through Southampton Central, before following the coastal line towards Portsea Island and Portsmouth Harbour, right beside the water! As always, thank you to everyone who supports the channel!
