5 - SHIVA E O BEIJA-FLOR - Ailton Krenak e Satish Kumar - CONVERSA NA REDE

This episode contains dialogue in English and Portuguese. You can activate your preferred subtitles (Portuguese or English) in the video menu. Deities evoked from places as far away as India and Brazil manifest themselves in the bamboo grove of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. Like a vegetal cathedral, the clearing of leaves receives only two benches made by Anapuatã Mehinako. Seated there, Ailton and Satish talk about life and its transmutation. The network here is invisible, an underground rhizome and spiritual web through which the forces of renewing destruction and radical love transit. Who is Shiva? Who is the hummingbird? In the fifth episode of the series “Conversation on the Network”, Ailton Krenak and Satish Kumar meet in the bamboo grove of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. The conversation features musical participation by Amora Pêra and illustrations by Aza made live during the conversation between Ailton and Satish. AILTON KRENAK is a thinker, environmentalist, and an important voice in indigenous movements. Together with Dantes Editora, he created Selvagem, a cycle of studies on life. In 2022, he was elected an immortal by the Brazilian Academy of Letters. SATISH KUMAR is a peace and environmental activist. He also gives workshops and lectures on ecology and education around the world. AMORA PÊRA writes poems, songs, and produces sounds for herself, for others, and for the stage.
