The Battles of Palo Alto and Resaca De La Palma - MEXICAN-AMERICAN WAR #2 - 4K DOCUMENTARY
Shortly after the outbreak of hostilities between the Mexicans and Americans, Mexican General Mariano Arista crossed the Rio Grande to force Taylor into an open battle. Outnumbered, Taylor meets Arista in battle at Palo Alto. Neither side claims a decisive victory, but the Americans are able to negate the numbers of Mexico by having effective artillery. Arista retreats to a more defensible position at Resaca De La Palma the next day. Taylor rides out to meet them and this time, decisively defeats the Mexicans despite being outnumbered and in a worse position. The Mexicans retreat across the Rio Grande, and never step foot in Texas again.
