DESTROYED Lexus SC430 3UZ-FE 4.3L V8 Engine Teardown. Mistakes Were Made And They RUINED their car!

Someone blew up a 3UZ! Well, like anything people consider bulletproof there's always someone able to find a way to break it. This 3UZ-FE is from a 2002 SC430 with just under 140K miles and while it did run, it ran badly and had an exit wound on the upper oil pan. Yikes. So what happened? How did this running SC430 with decent miles end up at the salvage auction with a junking certificate and a "bad" engine? Thats what this video will find out. Not good! 07:32 Clearing the valley, removing the starter and LOOK, Another HOLE! 09:37 Zipping off the exhaust manifolds 10:31 Removing the valve covers, not the best in here but we've seen worse 12:09 Stripping the front of the engine, timing covers, crank pulley, and timing belt 14:13 Crammin the cam cramps loose on the LH head 15:07 installing service bolt in exhaust cam 15:34 inspecting cams, caps and valvetrain 16:50 Cracking the head bolts loose on the left head 17:49 Lifting the head and RUST 19:00 Science bank 1 19:50 Crammin the cam cramps loose on the RH head, install service bolt, remove cams and inspecting valvetrain 21:30 Cracking the head bolts loose on the right bank and lifting the head 22:27 WE HAVE DAMAGE 23:39 Removing the water pump and carefully storing it 24:11 Unbolting the removing the lower oil pan. FRAPPACINO 25:56 Zipping out the upper oil pan bolts and removing the damaged upper pan.
