Heist-op-den-Berg, Bélgica | Kaasstrooimolen | Hof ter Laken [2021]

Heist-op-den-Berg is a city in the province of Antwerp in Belgium, situated on a hill that was already populated in prehistoric times. Itegem was probably the first village to be founded here, around 976, and was not called Heist-op-den-Berg until the 12th century. During most of the Middle Ages agriculture was the basis of the town's economy and as a more recent historical fact, the city was also severely damaged by the two world wars. Today it has a beautiful city centre, ideal for shopaholics with a nice mix of local boutiques and international chains. In addition, it has many green spaces, such as forests and valleys, with beautiful bike paths that we definitely recommend to walk through.
