Testicular Cancer - Seminoma Overview
Testicular cancers are a rare male genitourinary cancer, but when they occur 95% are germ cell tumors. Germ cell tumors are subdivided into seminomas (50-60%) vs. non-seminomatous germ cell tumors (40-50%). Radiation therapy has a more prominent role in the management of seminomas. Seminomas are managed primarily with radical inguinal orchiectomy, followed by tailored adjuvant treatment. In this talk, we review the background, staging, and treatment paradigms for seminoma, providing an overview of how this disease is managed. This presentation is created purely for educational purposes and does NOT constitute medical advice. If there are any errors or questions/concerns, we welcome comments and discussion!
