All a Yacht Broker needs is a handful of clients
www.yachtbrokermasterclass.com To be successful as a yacht broker all you need is a handful of clients. Of course you need to know how to find those clients, and how to keep those clients, and how to provide great service for those clients…but all you really need is a handful of clients. I recently spoke with one broker who acquired a new client who owns a fleet of nine yachts, yes that’s right, NINE yachts. And not small ones either, I’m talking about sizeable superyachts of all kinds - big and small, power and sail. The client has decided to sell some of his fleet and go shopping for some new ones, so he has assigned the broker the task of selling yachts in the fleet. Effectively this one single client has the value of several for this particular broker. Was this a stroke of luck? Not in my opinion. The broker has worked hard for many years to develop an outstanding reputation for honesty, integrity, hard work, and above all getting the job done. Successful people want to work with successful people, they want to work with folk who can get things done. On the Yachts For Sale YouTube channel I often receive comments from viewers who question why yacht owners are selling their vessel after just a year or two of ownership. They think that maybe something is wrong with the yacht. I completely understand that; before I was involved in the yachting industry I would have thought exactly the same thing. It seems incomprehensible that some people are so wealthy they can actually swap and change multi-million dollar yachts in the same way that we may buy and sell used clothes in a second hand shop. And yet it’s true. In the three decades that I have been working in the yachting industry my eyes have been opened to the vast levels of wealth that exists, and the amount of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals who delight in buying AND SELLING superyachts. They just seem to get a kick out of the process. This is very good news for anybody who aspires to be a yacht broker, and it is also the reason that in the Yacht Broker Master Class I have dedicated an entire module to the subject “It’s a relationships business”! The modules that take you through the contractual side of a transaction are very valuable of course, but almost anybody can learn that sort of thing. The key to success is the way you build your relationships, the service you give to your clients, how you treat buyers, how you treat sellers, because if you can master that…all you will need is a handful of clients to become very successful indeed.
