100 Lecture Series: Making Change Happen with Jody Litvak
Even with a great idea, and excellent planning and design, change is often painfully, frustratingly slow. In this talk, Jody Litvak draws from her 40-year career in government and community relations to explore the critical bridge between idea and reality. Moving a project, program or initiative from concept to a finished product requires more than technical expertise; it demands a deep understanding of tactical implementation, public-sector lobbying, coalition-building, the complex web of community interests and decision-making. Using real-world case studies, including the political navigation of major infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, Jody will break down the strategies necessary to manage this "messy" but necessary process. This event is part of the Perloff Lecture Series on 100 Years of Transportation Research, presented by UCLA ITS and UCLA Urban Planning Department. Funding is provided by the Harvey S. Perloff Endowment.
