Cardiac exam is crucial for assessment of several disease states, and point of care ultrasound (POCUS) can give valuable information about the structure and function of the heart. Information obtained via POCUS can be useful for diagnosis and also for therapeutic decision making. This information can be life saving in a critically ill patient.
