If you add up all the lakes and rivers, you'd get only 1% of the country's territory. Moreover, most of the country's lakes are artificial reservoirs. Real lakes, those created by nature itself, are very few. It would take just six people to count all 57 of these lakes on one hand. Today we'll go to Moldova's largest lake, Beleu. Besides its significant status for the country, there's much more to it – the Prut River, reminiscent of the Amazon, steep sandy hills, and a nature reserve with hundreds of species of birds, fish, and plants.
