Weiss Lake Alabama Structure Breakdown | Brush, Humps & River Swings

Weiss Lake Alabama Structure Breakdown | Brush, Humps & River Swings What’s up guys, T.O. (Tyler O'Connor) here with Simplistic Fishing. In this one, we’re taking a look at Weiss Lake out in Alabama. I went through the lake and picked out five areas on the southwest side that really stood out to me, and I want you to check them out and tell me what you think. Some of these are shallow targets with brush, debris, docks, and even old tires. When you look at historical Google Earth imagery from when the water was down around 2017 to 2018, you can really see what’s sitting there. One of the spots looks like a big cedar tree with scattered laydowns around it. Another dock area is loaded with brush piles. These are the kind of places that can hold both crappie and bass, and if the crappie are there, the bass usually are not far away. Then we slide offshore. There’s a really nice hump sitting near a river channel that tops out around 7 feet and falls into the low 20s, with a culvert underneath it. That kind of setup can be sneaky good, especially if it’s not getting as much pressure as the obvious main river channel stuff. The other offshore area is where things get really interesting. You’ve got a flat topped point sitting in about 17 feet, with a creek channel intersecting near the main river channel. Big depth changes, hard breaks, and multiple angles fish can move along. Those intersections are high percentage areas on Weiss Lake, especially when bass are setting up deeper. And for the last part of the video, I talk about the fish attractors placed by Alabama Fish and Wildlife. They did a great job on Weiss Lake. Most of those attractors are positioned around points, saddles, humps, and other high percentage structure. They’re not random. They’re placed where fish already want to be. All coordinates are shown inside the Simplistic Fishing mobile app. If you want everything loaded into your graph, you can grab Weiss Lake from simplisticfishing.com as a digital file or SD card. If you fish Weiss Lake, drop a comment and let me know if these areas line up with what you’re seeing out there. Hope this helps you on your next trip to Weiss Lake. Tight lines.
