From temples with picture-book-like scenery and the sound of wind chimes, to majestic sand dunes and the historic old Tokaido road, this time, we embarked on a 2-day, 1-night trip around Shizuoka Prefecture. Our journey began at Horai Bridge, with a stroll through a warm, picture-book-like forest. In Hamamatsu, we walked around Benten Island floating in Lake Hamana and the Nakatajima Sand Dunes at sunset, exploring the cityscape bathed in the blue hour. On the Tenryu Hamanako Railway, we were soothed by the nostalgic scenery of the local line. At Hattasan Son'eiji Temple in Fukuroi City, we spent a relaxing time admiring the wind chimes, hydrangeas, and beautiful Japanese umbrellas that color the early summer. In Yaizu, we visited the seaside complex "Yaizu PORTERS" and the Yaizu Fish Market, enjoying fresh seafood. The second half of our trip... To a historic highway representative of Shizuoka Prefecture In Hanazawa village, we walked through a quintessential Japanese landscape with stone walls and wooden houses, and in the Utsunoya settlement, we touched upon the history of the old Tokaido road. Finally, we visited the Meiji Utsunoya Tunnel Walking through the brick tunnel that has watched over people for over 140 years, we experienced a journey that allowed us to feel the history and culture of Shizuoka.
