LeelaKnightOdds's Richter-Veresov Attack Bullies Grandmaster
Featured is an interesting chess game between LeelaKnightOdds and Grandmaster David Paravyan (drop_stone on lichess). LeelaKnightOdds plays the Richter-Veresov Attack without a king knight. In response to Paravyan’s solid 3...Nbd7, Leela replies with h4, aiming to gain space and prepare a quick rook lift to g3, since h3 is no longer controlled by Black’s light-squared bishop. At one stage Leela is down a full piece, yet nearly all of Black’s pieces are inactive. Leela’s play consistently aims to make Black’s king position uncomfortable. After 31. f5, her space advantage is simply overwhelming. #LeelaKnightOdds #LCZero #chessAI I'm a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8.
