39 YEARS GONE - OG Shareef
OG Sharieff is a returning citizen from Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Projects who also spent much of his upbringing in Harlem on 140th Street and Convent Avenue, where he came up around influential figures like Curtis Blow. After serving 39 years in prison on a murder and weapons case, OG Sharieff finally returned home on August 16, 2025. Now 71 years old, he faces a challenge many people can’t imagine—rebuilding a life in a world that changed dramatically while he was away. From technology and culture to family and freedom, every day presents a new adjustment. In this episode of Dog In The Yard, OG Sharieff reflects on his upbringing, his decades behind bars, the lessons he learned, and what it means to come home after nearly four decades of incarceration.
