If there is one thing every European hockey fan is familiar with, it's hearing about how ugly our jersey's and our ice surfaces are. Because, as we all know - the NHL has absolutely no advertising around its league whatsoever. Except the arena names, the endless commercial breaks, the... on ice adverts. From the size of European towns, European broadcast rights and the types of small local sponsors European teams tend to attract. And, remember kids, as NHL fans collectively lose their mind about the first advertising patches appearing on their jerseys - and fans call for boycotts of the companies sponsoring those jerseys, such as - checks notes: Priority Waste Management - local sponsors who keep European teams on the ice deserve our support, because unlike the NHL, the small local businesses throwing money at teams to have a patch on their jersey do so because of their shared passion for the sport.
