Lo que puedes aprender de mi preparación para 100 millas

Can you imagine running 160 km and 10,000 m of elevation gain? 🏔️ That's what Ale, coach and nutritionist for Estrategas, is facing this week at the VDA: one of the toughest 100 miles in Europe. And he's shared his entire strategy with us before the start. The problem with these distances isn't just physical. It's that at 20 hours, with empty legs and your head begging to stop, any small mistake (nutrition, gear, mental) is magnified a thousandfold. 😅 Ale's key, also applicable to your next 60 or 80 km ultra: don't push your carbohydrate intake to the limit, even if you've trained for it, because the longer the run, the more vulnerable your stomach becomes. Combine running with cycling to protect your joints from the impact. And when you're feeling mentally low, never think "I can't go on": walk, eat something delicious, put on some music, make a call... anything to shift your focus. On your next long run, try slightly reducing your carb intake (grams per hour) from your usual limit and see how your stomach reacts. 🎒 👉 Listen to the full interview; there's much more about gear, tapering, and crisis management.
