As the formal vote approaches, the Presidency of the Conference of Bishops of France calls on members of parliament to consider the implications of their decision. Will they agree to pave the way for legislation that will allow everyone, in the future, to resort to euthanasia or assisted suicide, in the name of the necessary equality of access to care for all, as in all countries that have established this "right"? Or will they choose to resolutely commit France to the path of supporting life with dignity, for all lives and at every stage, until the very end, by guaranteeing the effectiveness of palliative care? The future model of our society will largely depend on this choice.
