During Guatemala’s long dry season, from February through to early summer, water becomes scarce. We are not able to have a pump of our own at the Boys' school, and due to poor local infrastructure, and the limited water supply provided by the municipality our water supply is simply not enough. So we are forced to buy water in, by lorry, to care for our boys. Each month, we must order 10 to 15 large lorry deliveries, each holding up to 3,000 gallons. But now, a new and urgent challenge has arisen: The rising cost of fuel is driving up the price of our water deliveries by over 30%.
