This opening episode of new true crime series Encounters With Evil delves deep into the dark world of those that kill, not for revenge or in a fit of rage-but just for the sheer thrill of it. British serial killer Denis Nilsen - who murdered at least fifteen people - took sexual pleasure from killing and kept the corpses in his home for as long as possible as a twisted form of “company”. While Nilsen’s victims were exclusively male, Australian serial killer, Ivan Milat took the lives of seven young male and female backpackers and seemingly delighted in the torture and killing of his victims. Our final murderer Colin Ireland - aka The Gay Slayer - incredibly made a New Years resolution to be a serial killer. Ireland took pleasure in binding, gagging and strangling his victims while evading and taunting the police investigators.
