John’s Full of a Cold… But Still Won’t Stop! 🇮🇪🏡 @rusticcottageco

This week in Donegal the weather definitely reminded us where we live! The sunshine disappeared, the rain arrived, and the wind seemed determined to blow everything away. While the plasterer continued making incredible progress on our huge kitchen renovation, I spent time painting and working on jobs around the cottage. Every week it feels a little more like home. John finally had Saturday, Sunday and Monday off work, and he desperately needed the break. He’s been battling a bad cold, but if you know John, you’ll know sitting still isn’t really an option. Even feeling under the weather, he still managed to find plenty to do. We also spotted some old logs abandoned beside the road and, naturally, decided they would be perfect for the fire. Before long the car was packed full of wood and we were heading home with another load of free fuel for the cottage. As if that wasn’t enough excitement, I also had a rather unusual encounter with some cows and bulls this week that left me questioning my life choices! The plastering work is transforming the cottage, the fire is keeping us warm, and despite the weather, we’re enjoying every moment of this journey as we continue bringing John’s granny’s cottage back to life.
