Madrid's Plaza de Pedro Zerolo was once again adorned with the colors of the LGBTQ+ flag to kick off the Pride 2026 campaign. This took place on Wednesday with the traditional opening speech from the Chueca neighborhood, featuring the artist La Plexy on stage; while the LGBTQ+ film speech was delivered by Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, and Kany García was the official speaker for Latin Pride. Spain is one of the safest countries in the world for LGBTQ+ people, at a time when hate speech against the community is on the rise.
