The Mercedes E300de is a hybrid, but paired with a diesel engine. It has rear-wheel drive, a 9-speed automatic, 306 hp, and 700 Nm. This entire concept has a good chance of success, because on the one hand, the E-Class is excellent in terms of aerodynamics, with active elements like the louvered grille, and even with a standard 220d diesel engine, it consumes very little fuel. Therefore, the hybrid version could consume even less. How much exactly? I conducted a few tests: how far will it travel on electric power? how much fuel does it consume on the highway and in the city when the battery is discharged? how often does it use the combustion engine in hybrid mode?
