自分探し | 矢島 里佳 | TEDxHaneda

"I want to pass on Japan's traditions to the next generation." Many people probably share this sentiment, but how many are actually putting it into action? She was drawn to the allure of artisans and tradition, and at the age of 19, she began working to disseminate information about Japanese traditional culture and industries. "More and more adults are unaware of traditional culture. So, I thought, why not create opportunities for children to learn about traditional culture from a young age!" With this idea in mind, she founded "aeru Co., Ltd." while still in university. They create everyday items for babies and children, allowing them to experience the craftsmanship of artisans, in collaboration with artisans across Japan. Creating new lifestyles from Japan's traditional industries, and making those lifestyles a part of its culture—she is steadily progressing towards this ultimate goal.
