KUNG PAO TOFU (CRISPY TOFU) | Frey and Maria

Make this easy but impressive #KungPaoTofu recipe for your family.​ 😍 It's ridiculously easy to prepare even an amateur cook can prepare this. 😋 You won't want to miss this one! 💕 KUNG PAO TOFU RECIPE ✨ 300 g firm tofu, cubed 2 spring onions, cut on the bias 1/4 cup roasted peanuts 2 tsp cornstarch 2 tbsp. maple syrup 1/4 cup vegetable stock 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tbsp. crushed garlic 1 tsp ginger, diced 1 tbsp. vegan Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp chili flakes 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar *For the toppings (optional) chopped spring onions roasted peanuts Method First, cut the tofu into about 1/2 inch cubes. In a large bowl, add the tofu pieces and sprinkle 4 tbsp. of cornstarch. Gently toss to evenly coat the tofu. After that, air fry for 18-20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. To make the sauce: Combine the apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, vegetable stock, vegan Worcestershire sauce, maple syrup and cornstarch in a bowl and mix them well. Set aside. Sauté the ginger, garlic, chili flakes, peanuts, spring onions and add a splash of vegetable stock. Add the cooked tofu and give it a good stir. Pour the sauce over the tofu and add 1 tbsp. of vegetable stock to prevent it from sticking to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with more peanuts and chopped spring onions. Serve immediately and enjoy with steamed rice! *Feel free to adjust the recipe measurements according to your preference.
