Our goal in this second part is to focus on the ground fault as precisely as possible. My recommendation is to take increasingly concise measurements. To do this, we start by using our multifunction tester, which we connected to the bare 35mm2 cable (green and black), making sure to disconnect the house ground. The other two cables (red B2 and blue B4) are connected to two other ground rods we've prepared. How do you think the measurements will turn out? If the grounds were correct, when taking the ground resistance measurements, we should have a result of about 20 Ω. Well, to our surprise, we measured 347 Ω, which makes us think something strange is happening in this installation… Everything points to this being because we're receiving voltage through the ground. So, we'll go to the meter and, with our clamp meter, we'll measure the neutral and the phases. This time, we observe that all the measurements are correct. However, when measuring the different phases with the ground (distribution box cover), we observe that one of them is showing very little voltage. What does that mean? It's as if we were measuring on the same conductor, a distribution phase with a tapped phase, confirming that it's that phase that's causing the ground fault. Want to know how to proceed from here?
