Dr Paul Matsvai on Diaspora Leadership and Language as Infrastructure | AfriWoman Chats
What does it take to build lasting institutions across the diaspora? In this episode of AfriWoman Chats, Tchiyiwe Chihana is in conversation with Dr Paul Matsvai, a community leader working at the intersection of diaspora leadership, health, and cultural infrastructure. Dr Matsvai is the CEO of the Zimbabwe Diaspora Nation Building Initiative and Chairman of the South Yorkshire African Languages and Cultural Heritage Centre. His work centres on building systems that enable communities to organise, sustain themselves and take ownership of their future. The conversation explores what diaspora leadership looks like in practice, the importance of language and cultural preservation, and how institutions can be shaped to serve both present and future generations. This interview is part of African Voices Platform’s ongoing conversations exploring culture, leadership and public life.
