Built to Last

For almost 70 years, Camp Deer Run has been building. We build authentic childhood fun. We build meaningful, lasting relationships. We build personal, powerful faith with deep roots and strong foundations. As Camp has grown, God has provided what we needed to carry on this ministry. When a new cabin, bathhouse, or nurse's station was needed, the Deer Run family responded, offering their time, labor, and money to build what our campers needed. After faithfully serving for decades, these buildings began to deteriorate. For the past 20 years, we've been on a mission to replace the facilities that could no longer serve our campers. Now, the finish line is in sight. Camp Deer Run is raising $3.5 million to complete four of the final major projects in this decades-long goal. The Built to Last Campaign will build two new bathhouses, repurpose the 1960s mess hall into a new Nurse's Station, and purchase 100 acres of Big Woods that directly borders the main campgrounds. The best part? Deer Run supporters have already raised $3 million toward that goal! The mission of Camp Deer Run has not changed, and the heart of our program remains, as it always has been, pure & simple. The traditions, the stories, the camaraderie, the creativity, the creek. These are the things that unite every Deer Runner from every era. These are the building blocks that have led thousands of campers since 1958 to experience God at Camp Deer Run. This project is about preserving these things, not changing them. It's about making sure that Camp Deer Run is, both spiritually and physically, here to stay and Built to Last.
