In this series that begins with this video, I will discuss how the theory of relativity came about and why it was necessary. I will present its central ideas, its most significant consequences and applications, always attentive to its current status, especially with regard to experimental confirmation. The proposal is to make a faithful and rigorous presentation of the foundations of the theory of relativity, being, at the same time, compact, didactic and illustrative, using as little mathematics as possible.
