Poincaré, Einstein e a construção de uma Nova Física: O Princípio Geral da Relatividade
Among the basic laws of physics are Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism. These equations determine that electromagnetic waves must propagate at the speed of light. But this speed would be in relation to which reference? Physicists in the 19th century bet all their chips that it was in relation to the ether, but we saw that this was a dismal failure. In this video I will describe the idea that solved the uncomfortable dilemmas of the late 19th century, giving them a simple and elegant answer: the Principle of Relativity. • Follow Verve Científica on the media: instagram.com/Verve.Cientifica facebook.com/VerveCientifica email: [email protected] The Verve Científica project is supported by the Federal University of São Paulo (ICT-UNIFESP) through its university extension program.
