A trip in the legendary Soviet bus LIAZ-677

Arzamas is a small and very beautiful Russian city not far from Nizhny Novgorod. The main feature of the city is its buses. Until 2021, Arzamas was the last city where the legendary Soviet buses LIAZ-677 were operated. Every inhabitant of the post-Soviet space knows these buses: people love them and remember them with nostalgia, because their childhood and youth are connected with these buses. In November 2020, 2 LIAZ-677 buses were operated in Arzamas and we went to this city to ride them. In the morning these buses were not on the route, so we went first to the narrow-gauge railway of the gypsum plant, where there were no trains that day. Then we moved to the local railway line and caught one of the few remaining diesel locomotives 2TE10M with a "native" diesel engine. In the evening we returned to the city and caught the LIAZ-677 bus, which worked on a suburban route. An hour we rode in it to the village of Poshatovo, an hour back. Ride along with me!
